LayTec’s Flames installed at Singfilm to support perovskite manufacturing ramp-up
Berlin, Germany – Singapore, August 11 , 2026 – LayTec AG has just installed and commissioned its Flames in-line metrology system at Singfilm Solar Pte. Ltd., a developer and manufacturer of next-generation perovskite solar cells and modules.
Integrated into Singfilm’s proprietary evaporation process, Flames provides rapid feedback on perovskite film thickness during production. The measurement data helps engineers assess process stability, identify deviations and accelerate the transfer of deposition processes from development to manufacturing.
As the perovskite industry moves toward larger production volumes, the focus is increasingly shifting from individual record devices to repeatable processes, consistent quality and high yield. Over several years, LayTec has built application expertise in optical quality control for perovskite materials and layer stacks. The company is now consistently applying this experience in production-compatible metrology systems designed to support the technology’s industrial adoption.
“LayTec's Flames delivers real-time thickness data that plays an important role in our production ramp-up. It helps us accelerate learning, maintain high yield, and ensure consistent quality throughout the scale-up phase,” says Prof. Yi Hou, founder of Singfilm and Professor at the National University of Singapore.
The system was commissioned in early 2026 and is now supporting Singfilm’s production activities. By making measurement results available directly during the process, Flames shortens feedback cycles and reduces the need to rely exclusively on offline analysis.
“The perovskite industry is entering a phase in which reliable process data is becoming as important as device performance,” says Volker Blank, CEO at LayTec. “Our objective is to provide engineering teams with practical measurement tools that help them establish stable process windows and scale their technologies with confidence.”
Following the previously announced deployment at Caelux, Singfilm is a further leading perovskite manufacturer that LayTec can publicly name as a reference customer. LayTec has also secured further industrial projects in the perovskite sector whose customers are not currently being diclosed.
Flames can be adapted to different deposition technologies and production environments. It can also be combined with additional LayTec optical metrology solutions to monitor further material and device properties across the manufacturing process.
