Driving perovskite manufacturing with real-time in-situ PL
LayTec and Korea Kiyon announce strategic cooperation for OEM integration of in-situ PL metrology in PVD systems for perovskite manufacturing
Berlin, Germany – Seoul, South Korea, February 24, 2026 – LayTec AG, a leading provider of in-situ metrology solutions for thin-film processes, and Korea Kiyon Co., Ltd., a specialist in advanced physical vapor deposition (PVD) systems, today announced a strategic cooperation for the OEM integration of LayTec’s in-situ photoluminescence (PL) measurement system PearL into Korea Kiyon’s PVD chambers for perovskite thin-film fabrication.
The collaboration enables real-time, non-destructive monitoring and control of perovskite layer composition directly during deposition. By combining Korea Kiyon’s high-performance PVD process technology with LayTec’s PearL in-situ PL metrology, customers gain access to an advanced solution for precise process control, improved reproducibility, and accelerated process development.
LayTec’s PearL system is specifically designed for room-temperature deposition processes and provides highly sensitive photoluminescence measurements, allowing direct insight into material composition, bandgap, and film quality during growth. Integrated as an OEM solution into Korea Kiyon’s PVD platforms, PearL enables precise process optimization and enhanced yield in perovskite manufacturing.
“Perovskite technology demands precise control over material composition and layer quality,” says Volker Blank, CEO of LayTec AG. “By integrating our PearL in-situ PL measurement system directly into Korea Kiyon’s PVD chambers, we provide customers with a powerful metrology solution that delivers real-time insight into the deposition process and enables superior process stability and control.”
Jeffrey Lee, CEO of Korea Kiyon Co., Ltd., adds: “This cooperation with LayTec significantly strengthens our PVD platform for perovskite applications. The combination of Korea Kiyon’s deposition expertise with LayTec’s proven in-situ metrology allows our customers to optimally control and monitor their processes, paving the way for reliable and scalable perovskite manufacturing.”
The OEM integration of LayTec’s PearL system demonstrates both companies’ commitment to supporting the industrialization of perovskite technologies by providing advanced tools for process understanding, control, and optimization.
